Privacy Policy
ShopSpot · Last updated: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the ShopSpot app (“ShopSpot,” “we,” “us”) collects when you install and use it on your Shopify store, how we use it, and your rights. By installing ShopSpot you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
When you install ShopSpot, we receive and store:
- Store information — your store’s domain and an access token that lets the app work with your store via Shopify’s API.
- Content you create — the shoppable images you upload, the pins you place, captions, and the products you link to them. Uploaded images are stored in your own Shopify Files.
ShopSpot does not collect or store any personal information about your customers (shoppers). When a shopper adds a product to cart from a shoppable image, that action happens entirely within Shopify’s checkout — we never see or store customer data.
How we use it
We use this information solely to provide the app’s features: displaying your shoppable images on your storefront, syncing your content with your store, and operating your subscription. We do not sell, rent, or share your data for advertising.
Where your data is stored
App data is stored on our hosting provider (Fly.io) and, for the content that powers your storefront, as metaobjects within your own Shopify store. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data only while ShopSpot is installed. In line with Shopify’s requirements:
- When you uninstall the app, your store’s data is scheduled for deletion.
- We respond to Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks (
customers/data_request,customers/redact, andshop/redact). Because we store no customer personal data, the customer webhooks have nothing to return or erase; the shop redaction webhook deletes your store’s ShopSpot data.
Third-party services
ShopSpot relies on Shopify (the platform your store runs on) and Fly.io (our hosting provider). Your use of Shopify is also governed by Shopify’s own privacy policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about your store. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
